Overview
How we transformed this business
The Problem
A men’s grooming shop whose selling point is the room it happens in, and a booking need small enough that any reservation platform would have been more administration than the shop would ever use.
Our Approach
Six pages, photography of the actual shop at the centre of the layout, and a booking form written into the build instead of installed as a plugin, so nothing has to be maintained for a booking to arrive.
The Outcome
Six services on one page, a gallery covering the work, the space and the detail, and a booking form taking a name, a phone number with a country code, a service, a time and a callback preference. The shop has since moved to a new site built by their CRM company, so the link here opens a copy we host on a sub-domain of ours as an archive of the work. Some sections still carry placeholder content that the client asked us to put in until his own material is ready.
Project Story
From vision to launch — every step, intentional
- The brief put the space, the chairs and the mirrors on equal footing with the work
- That pushed photography to the centre of the layout rather than the end of it
- Everything else was designed around it
- Haircut, hair colour, protein treatment, skin care, the groom package and the full service experience
- Six thin pages would have been six pages nobody finishes
- So they were described together, where a customer can compare them
- A booking plugin would have added a licence, updates and settings nobody at the shop would open
- We wrote the form and the handler that receives it
- Name, phone with a country code, service, time, and how to be reached back
- The gallery covers the work, the space and the detail separately
- The same photography runs through the service pages
- A grooming shop is judged on whether the room looks worth an hour
- Sayed Ali later commissioned a new website from the company that runs their CRM
- What we built is no longer published on their own domain
- We host a copy on a sub-domain of ours so the work can still be seen, labelled as an archive
What We Built
Performance & Delivery
Six Pages, and a Reason for Each
Home, About, Services, Gallery, Booking, Contact. No blog nobody was going to write, and no news section that would sit empty by the second month.
Six Services on One Page
Haircut, hair colour, protein treatment, skin care, the groom package and the full service experience, described together so a customer compares them without moving between pages.
A Booking Form We Wrote Ourselves
Name, phone, service, date and time, and how the customer wants to be reached back. It submits through a handler built for this site, with no booking plugin underneath it.
A Phone Field Built for Real Numbers
The phone input carries a country code selector, so a number typed by somebody outside Egypt arrives in a shape the shop can actually dial.
The Room, Not Just the Haircuts
The gallery is split across the work, the space and the detail. The chairs, the mirrors and the lighting are part of what the shop sells, so they were photographed as carefully as the cuts.
Address, Phone, Email and Opening Hours Together
Contact carries all four in one place. Somebody deciding whether to walk in this evening should not have to hunt for the closing time.
Behind the Results
Why this project succeeded
A Form Instead of a Booking Platform
Four fields and a callback preference.
The shop needed a name, a number, a service and a time. Writing that took less work than configuring a reservation system would have, and it left the owner nothing to administer. Booking platforms earn their keep on volume this shop does not have.
No Plugin to Keep Alive
Nothing here expires.
Because the booking handler is part of the build, there is no third-party plugin whose next update, or expired licence, could quietly stop the shop taking bookings. That is the failure mode small sites die of.
The Photography Decided the Layout
Pictures first, then the design around them.
The design was drawn around the photographs rather than the photographs being dropped into a design. On a site selling a room rather than a product, that ordering is the whole job.
The Link Here Is Our Archive, Not Their Site
A copy we host, clearly labelled.
Sayed Ali moved to a new website built by the company that runs their CRM, and our build is no longer published on their domain. What opens from this page is a copy we host on a sub-domain of ours so the work can still be seen. It is not the shop’s current website and should not be read as one.
