Kidana Travel Case Study:
A Booking Platform in Four Languages
A Cairo travel company specialising in Hajj and Umrah, with a presence in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. They came to us on a referral wanting a site that takes the booking itself and can grow into whatever they connect to it later.

The Problem
The company's management came with three requirements rather than one. The site had to stand up in a crowded market where every competitor sells the same journeys. It had to be built so it could be extended later and connected to the other systems they would bring in. And it had to take bookings on the site, so a customer could choose a programme or a service and complete it there. None of those are things you get from a template.
Our Approach
We worked through the requirements with their management before we picked anything, and we went through the competitor sites at the same time. Laravel was the right platform for what they described, and the front end was designed and coded from scratch to the specification their team set. The point was not to look better than the competition and stop there. It was to do more than the competition does, for the customer booking and for the staff running it.
The Outcome
We presented more than one design direction, and the chairman signed off on the one they picked. The platform went live in four languages with English as the default, with booking on the site. We stayed on afterwards and helped the team load more than 300 tour programmes, then set up their social accounts and ran them for three months before handing them over to their own staff.
قصة المشروع
من الرؤية إلى الإطلاق — كل خطوة مدروسة
- Met the founder and worked through what the company needed the site to do
- Established the three goals: presence, room to grow, and booking on the site
- Reviewed the competitor sites to see what was already being offered
- Set the specification with their management before any design work started
- Designed the interface from scratch rather than adapting a theme
- Built each direction around the specification their team had set
- Presented more than one design to the company’s management
- Moved forward on the direction the chairman approved
- Built the platform on Laravel for the extensibility they asked for
- Coded the front end custom to the approved design
- Built the booking system so customers complete a booking on the site
- Structured the build so other systems can be connected to it later
- Set up the site in four languages with English as the default
- Added Arabic, French and Indonesian alongside it
- Helped the team load more than 300 tour programmes into the catalogue
- Filled the service pages: flights, visas, Nile cruises and Umrah Plus Egypt
- Handed the platform to the team who would run it day to day
- Set up the company’s social accounts at their request
- Ran the accounts for three months while the team learned them
- Handed the accounts over to their own staff to manage internally
ما الذي بنيناه
الأداء & التسليم
Custom Laravel Platform
Built on Laravel rather than a template, so the company can extend it and connect it to other systems as they grow.
Booking On the Site
Customers choose a programme or a service and complete the booking on the site instead of calling the office.
Four Languages
English as the default, with Arabic, French and Indonesian running alongside it for the markets the company sells into.
A Catalogue of Over 300 Programmes
We helped the team load more than 300 tour programmes, so the site opened with something real in it rather than a handful of samples.
Service Pages That Sell
Separate pages for flight tickets, travel visas, Nile cruises and Umrah Plus Egypt, each written to be found on its own terms.
Custom Design, Not a Theme
Every screen designed and coded to the specification their team set, after we had been through what the competition was already offering.

Three Requirements, Not One
The brief was harder than it looked.
Management asked for a site that would represent the company well, one that could be extended and connected to other systems later, and one that took bookings directly. Any one of those on its own points to a template. All three together point to a custom build, which is what we recommended and what we delivered.
We Read the Competition First
You cannot beat a field you have not looked at.
Before any design work started we went through the competitor sites to see what was already being offered to the same customer. That reading shaped the functions we built, not just how the pages look. The goal was to do more for the traveller booking and for the staff running it.
Designs Presented, Not Assumed
The company chose the direction.
We put more than one design direction in front of their management rather than presenting a single option and asking for approval. The chairman signed off on the one they chose, and development started from a design the company had actually picked.
We Stayed After Launch
A launch is not a handover.
After the platform went live we helped the team load more than 300 tour programmes into it. Then, at their request, we set up their social accounts and ran them for three months while their own staff learned to manage them, and handed them over internally.

Need a Site That Takes the Booking?
We build custom platforms for companies whose requirements do not fit a template, and we stay on after launch until the team can run it themselves.
